there are lots of things that keep the van running, and one of ‘em is…

Magic Radio: Chaka Kahn schaking it with some clouhds!
You ever get that feeling – when clouds of different shapes and sizes are hiding on the horizon – that those clouds in the distance are going to change your plans? And all your dreams will melt like sand?
Well Chaka Kahn sure has!
In case you haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing the magic of melting sand with Chaka before, here’s a little taste!
If you listened closely, you might have heard the late, great Whitney Houston singing along on a cloud of her own.
Magic Radio salutes the Fingernail Moon with Annie Lennox
Happy Fingernail Moon Night!!! Seriously, go out and take a peek. That moon is a mere sliver. Why, just clip your fingernail and hold the clipping up to the moon, and we bet you can cover it up! You probably get the point. But just in case, here’s a poem we wrote:
Oh lovely fingernail moon,
We like to watch you while eating a plum!
If only we could visit you by riding in a balloon,
That would be really awesome.
And we’re not the only ones who like to rhyme about fingernail moons. Annie Lennox seems to have a thing for them too!
So without further poems, let’s take a listen!
Ahh.. such soothing eurhythms…
We’d love to show you a picture of a fingernail moon, but they’re a little camera shy. Hard to snap a good one. But it turns out you can buy your very own baseball card sized pic on etsy!
Well, enough about fingernail moons. Here’s Annie Lennox singing with David Bowie!
Magic Radio – It’s the rainbow song!
Wow! That was some holiday ride! But we’re finally taking down the Magic-mas Tree and putting away the Van-orah. Let’s face it, we’ve got a full blown case of 2012. And what better way to get things rolling this year than by tuning into our Magic Radio!
Froggy wanted to jam to some green sounds, but Cloudy was all “Blue’s the way to go!” So we thought, why not make everybody happy!
Here’s a little tune from a band of possible giants about a man with a rainbow plan!
magic radio: friday, i’m in love.
in honor of one of the most exciting friday’s of the year – THE FRIDAY BEFORE HANUKKAH!! AND THE SECOND FRIDAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS!! & OMG KWANZAA TOO!! – we’re tuning up the van speakers to one of our faves from the cure:

the words for your inevitable sing-along:
magic radio – cruisin’ to some october country
Oops! We fell through on Fall!
Well, we got so excited about that Robo-suitcase we found in the Van last week and the space debris that was crashing down on us, that we totally spaced on Mother Nature’s salute to a balanced diet – the Equinox!
No, we’re talking Autumnal Equinox here – NASA’s space junk attack wasn’t the only thing going on last Friday, it was also the day when Happy Rays and Sweet Beams are most yinnin’ and yangin’. Or for any Van newbsters, day and night are as close to equal as they’re gonna get.

Now that's our kind of equinox!
Yeah, we kinda dropped the cue ball on this one. But let us make it up to you with the September sounds that we’re tuned to on the magic radio:
By the way, if you were wondering, the bus that fell out of the sky on Friday ended up spread over 500 miles of the northern part of the Pacific Ocean. Only one fish has reported being startled from it yet, and he said he’s already “moved on to the present.” Fish say the darnedest things!
magic radio: like a hurricane
yo east coast vanners! we’re paying tribute to queen irene, the insane hurricane swirling towards our HQ in NYC, with this neil young song:

we’re staying safe by rolling up our windows and chilling in a hurricane safe ditch!
